Reasons Why Not To Get A Spray In Bed Liner

There are many reasons why you might want to put a plastic bed liner in your truck bed because the spray on bed liner is most likely the top choice in truck bed protection. However there are very strong reasons for placing the plastic bed liner in your pickup truck instead of the spray in bed liner.

Plastic bed liners are tough. No matter how tough the job is, a plastic bed lining is made to withstand the roughest cargo. Take carrying concrete blocks as an example. Concrete blocks are really going to damage your spray on bed liner and since the spray on liner is permanent, a scarred up liner should be repaired or the liner will remain rough looking. A plastic bed liner is heavier than a spray on liner and practically indestructible. And at less than 50 % the cost of a spray on liner. A plastic bed liner could easily be replaced in the event that it’s terribly damaged from heavy  hauling but that is a very rare case.

Plastic bed liners arrive in one piece custom made to match your bed. Some liners are multiple panels with a multi-piece liner you get a custom fit.  Because plastic is so tough, you can truly utilize your pickup truck to haul the majority of all items with no fear of harming your truck bed. Don’t be concerned, your pickup truck bed is protected! And again, plastic bed liners are cheap compared to the majority of spray on bed liners. You can get a tougher liner for 50 % the cost.

Especially for pickups that do tough hauling jobs, the plastic bed liner is the great choice to protect your pick-up bed from dents, scrapes and scratches.  Don’t give your truck a life sentence, get a bed liner that you can take out at any time. Get a bed liner that will protect your trucks box from dents and scratches better than a Spray On, get a Custom bed liner today!

A Stinky Idea For A Bed Liner!

I can think of just a couple things that absorb water like a wet dog. I found out the hard way that carpet has many similarities to a dogs hair when it comes to holding water. The main difference is that a dog can “Shake off” a large portion, but still the remaining moisture is still enough to make them stink like crazy. Carpet creates numerous little compartments, just like a dogs coat, that actually traps water. Each of these little micro compartments, act kind of like hundreds  of tiny cups, reducing the surface area so that the water will take several time longer to evaporate, than if it was on a flat nonporous surface. If you ever had your basement flood you know what I am talking about. It is very difficult for restoration teams to dry out the carpet once it has been introduced to large amounts of water. The process involves extracting the water from the carpet with a powerful vacuum, then they actually lift the carpet off from the floor and hold it up with specialized equipment. This creates an air space under the carpet which they blast with moving air to help dry it out as quickly as possible.

Can Your Carpet Bed Liner Do This?

The new  “rug type”  bed liner is made out of five pieces that zipper together and are held in place with double sided sticky tape and Velcro.  What we found is that the carpet bed liner was more suitable for light use, more like the trunk of a car. The typical truck guy wants to be able to put his trophy buck in the back with out worrying about staining the bed liner, or take the Labrador out bird hunting with out having to pick the dog hairs out that got embedded in the carpet. Commercial uses would definitely not be an option with this type of liner.  If the rug type bed liner gets wet it takes forever for it to dry, you may want to take it out and stick it in front of a fan, you know how carpet is once it gets wet. I also would not recommend this type of bed liner for any one that plans to haul a cooler, here is a little test you try at home. Take your cooler or rubber maid container into your living room and push it. Yeah, it slides pretty good. When your cooler is in a truck with the carpet type bed liner, it doesn’t stop when the truck does, it come crashing into the cab and can blow the lid right off if you are going fast enough. Is that how you want your cargo to ride? I didn’t think so. We found that there was another new type of bed liner on the market it is called the “hybrid” bed liner by Dual Liner, it is also a five piece component bed liner that fits the exact contour of your truck. The Dual Liner uses a Zero Skid mat, that is made of high grade rubber, it will definitely keep your stuff in place and it will hold up to even the most extreme commercial uses. The Dual Liner is only bed liner that the warranty is not voided by commercial applications. The Dual Liner will not stain, it is made from high grade rubber compound made with recycled tires. It will not hold water either, as it is designed to disperse the water utilizing the factory drain holes. The Dual Liner is way easier to install too, it take only 20 minutes in most cases.
